PSA: If your blog is stuck in explicit mode

You can edit the settings page to change it.

This is my naughty blog right now. Notice how the icon is that snazzy default thing?

That’s because it’s set to explicit, a setting that was locked after the great purge:

BUT

If you right-click on that toggle and click “inspect element”, you can change that.

Notice how the input tag has a disabled attribute? Just remove that whole thing:

The toggle is now active

And toggleable

And now, after a quick refresh, my old (crap, but real) icon and header image are back, and the blog is no longer treated as hidden or explicit.

The goggle also disappears after the refresh, but it’s worth noting that you can also edit the toggle back into the settings panel and change your blog back to explicit if you so desire.

This is a perfect example of the laziness of tumblr’s devs. They haven’t removed the functionality, they’ve just kinda-sorta hidden it a bit; the end-point that the explicit toggle hits is still there.

Please reblog this and post this is discords where people are having trouble with their blogs

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN SAVE YOUR BLOG

I am Computer Code illiterate and this post was simple enough that even i was able to fix my blog that was marked after the purgening.

Thank you OP for posting this and helping me rescue my blog!

No offense but women also have the right to objectify males, it’s not our fault you girls out there don’t exploit men

I can’t believe I even have to say this, but exploiting people is bad. It’s not something that women should aspire to because they have the “right” to do, it’s something men should fucking stop doing because it’s wrong and hurts people. Jesus fucking christ, if that’s the best comment that you have to contribute, you should tell it to your therapist or keep it to yourself, because it does nobody any good to see your outrageous lack of empathy blasted all over the internet. Unfollow me and go bother someone else with your ignorant opinions.

Women exploiting men would be equality, which is why I am not interested in equality. I want liberation.

PLEASE take the time to read this powerful, strong poem. Women are often afraid to voice their anger surrounding the abuse we have been forced to endure. The incredible Jan Beatty allows herself to be angry, loud, and direct. I have never had such a strong reaction to a poem before. Women: BE ANGRY! BE LOUD! Take no prisoners.

So… not to rant but I’m absolutely done using the phrase “genital preference”. It waters down the issue. It’s wishy-washy. It paves the way for making lesbians “identify” their preference, which is how we get invasive and repetitious phrases like “penis-repulsed lesbian”, which are all about ostracizing us and making us self-identify as not good enough to fit the “queer” idea of what lesbian is–an attraction to pronoun choice.

I just saw the natural progression of this bullshit–the made-up term “phallobobia” to describe lesbians. Did we need another phrases for them to try and frame our sexuality in terms of male bodies? To pathologize us?

We don’t need the term “genital preference”. The term is orientation. “Genital preference” comes from the idea that genitals are completely separate from the rest of the body.

Many of us have the want to be nice and be kind. But using language like this isn’t nice and kind to us. Making us identify as “the lesbians who don’t like penises” is about making lesbians “the bad lesbians”.

I just can’t stand it. No matter what words we use to try and parse this out–boundaries, preferences, wants–they’re going to hate us anyway.

So at this point, I’m not saying I have a preference. That makes it sound like I’m choosing a dessert. Lesbians are female people exclusively attracted to female people. And anyone who wants to call that a preference instead of a rigid and unshakeable fact needs to critically examine why they can’t let lesbians be lesbians.

My block list gets bigger every day. People trying to convince lesbians, especially young lesbians, that their exclusive desire for women is some filthy subset of lesbianism are trash. And they need to get the hell out of lesbian discussions.

Lesbians im so sorry

Wtf

Pink news is trash

Interesting that we apparently need an extended discussion for a question that can be answered with one word. But it’s not the answer you want so try, try again?
When a man says no in this culture, it’s the end of the discussion. When a woman says no, it’s the beginning of a negotiation.
