I left tumblr for like 2-3 years and upon coming back recently, I am constantly having to look up words and acronyms I’ve never heard before. Insane. There’s a new vernacular that developed and hit critical mass in such a short amount of time. Words don’t mean what they mean, everything’s become subjective, hyperbole is rampant, and suddenly everyone and their fucking mother is an expert in everything.

It’s kinda irritating that my cooking hobby is sort of seen as a natural byproduct of my womanhood. Like, punk, let’s see you make a ravioli from scratch. How’s your pie taste, Thomas? Not as good as mine, jerk. Man cooks it’s a hobby, woman cooks it’s just normal. Anyway the way you call everybody babe warms my heart I feel loved.

men can’t bother to learn even the most basic tasks so when one does everyone is like so proud or surprised like “omg he cooks and cleans sometimes what a perfect guy” it just shows how fucking low the bar is when these are things that people just expect women to know. also the fact that despite cooking being a “women thing” the richest and most famous chefs are still male. 

Someone please give me a definition for “femme-aligned” that isn’t based on circular logic or wearing dresses. Differentiate between “femme-aligned” and “feminine”, while you’re at it. Then please define “straight”, “gay”, “cis”, “woman”, and “lesbian”.

And then try to tell me that nonbinary lesbians exist because lesbians are femme-aligned people attracted to femme-aligned people but also butch trans women can be lesbians.
