when will terfs understand that language like “people with ovaries” and “vagina owners” is not means to dehumanize women or reduce them to a set of body parts, but to be inclusive of trans men
when will genderists understand that language like “female” is not meant
to dehumanize transwomen or reduce them to a set of body parts, but to
recognize that females represent an important social and biological
class
I completely understand that you and trans men (don’t know if you are so that’s why I separate them) don’t want to be called women. Language that hinges on grouping us via organs, though, isn’t enitrely helpful. For the general population, yes you can conglomerate us by saying “These people have ovaries, these people do not,” but that does not properly apply to trans men who’ve had hysterectomies, those who’ve had ovaries removed or hysterectomies for other reasons, or people with intersex disorders such as myself when it comes to medicinal need.
The reason there is even a need to differentiate a class like female/AFAB/people with ovaries is because we have vastly different medical needs and dosing/chemical compatibility. But AFAB/people with ovaries/people with a vagina doesn’t work for that because those groups contain people who are either not female or do not have ovaries and the prior will need the medicinal dosings and drug compatibility consideration of other males.
In example (and I’m not going to at her since she’s inactive on that blog any longer) star-mut is male. She’s AFAB, meaning she has an intersex disorder that is male (XY) but sex-reversal due to in utero reproductive development dysfunction. I was assigned male, meaning my intersex disorder is female (XX) but caused significant virilization and later on my doctors decided to further that in attempt to make me appear completely phenotypically male. Star cannot receive medications that are meant for or dosed for females, and I cannot receive medications that are meant for and dosed for males. That’s why the “assigned” is tagged onto the name, is so our doctors know “Oh, my patient Chris is actually a female but to hide the private medical intersex condition from people who aren’t in the medical staff, we have ‘male’ written.” And that’s why AFAB/AMAB aren’t good nomenclature to classify the population by as a whole.
“People with ovaries” leaves out that female people with intersex conditions may be born without ovaries as in MRKH and most Turner Syndrome patients. Those patients still need the medicines and dosings of other female patients and trans men, but don’t have ovaries so we can’t call the group of us “people with ovaries.”
“People with vaginas” leaves out female people with the intersex disorder MRKH, the intersex disorder De La Chapelle Syndrome, among others, and includes males like Star, and intersex disorders like AIS and Swyer Syndrome. Here the people left out are still females needing the female dosing and chemical compatibility, but those included cannot have those.
It’s okay to classify us by male and female. It helps everyone–intersex people especially–get our proper medical care. And, yeah, terms like “vagina owner” do come across as objectifying, not a stab at you or anything but “owner” denotes “of an object,” the object being the vagina and simplifying someone to “owner of this object” places the focus on said object. That’s probably not something you thought of at all, don’t blame you. We’re used to thinking like that as a society so it’s not as shocking to hear “vagina owner” as it is to hear/call someone “penis owner,” since we subconsciously view vagina as an object and not a part of a human being.
For sure, for trans people’s sake we could stop using article titles like “Take these five supplements for women’s health,” especially since those articles trans men may overlook and trans women might start taking a supplement that is actually harmful to them. An article titled “Take these five supplements for female health,” is inclusive of all those who the supplement benefits whilst not drawing in people to whom it is not like trans women and AFABs.
Sorry for the dingy and probably jump-around-y explanation, but I can always dig in a bit further if needed!
I’d like to add on, as a trans man, that the “inclusive language” op mentions actually make a LOT of trans dudes uncomfortable because it brings focus to body parts we’re dysphoric about.
I’d 100% rather be called a female than a fucking vagina owner
It is reducing us to our parts and it is dehumanising. Stop.

Apply to a job, wait (1) day, then call. Give them your first and last name. Tell them you submitted an application and that you’re very motivated to find [Enter field name] work. Let the conversation lead you wherever it takes. Be very polite. Say” thank you for your time, I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you.” Rinse, repeat. This is to force them to be looking out for your application.
When you get to the interview, shake their hand firmly, tell them your first and last name.
Describe your experiences as “ two years transcription and data entry” if you have a desk job interview and “ [however many years] costumer service, retail and stock” for your retail jobs.
Don’t use job “ buzz words” I stg they hear them all day. Say things like, “ I’m detail oriented and am very good at taking instruction.” “ I would like to work for a company with integrity and I feel that [ company name] would be a good fit”
When they ask you if you have “reliable transportation” say YES. don’t tell them what kind of transportation, just say yes. (if you don’t do this, you wont get the job , I’m telling you right now).
Research the company. Know what they do, why they do it, how OLD the company is. WHERE it was founded, and what kind of position you’re intending to apply for.
When they ask you “ give us a situation where you had to blah blah blah” Make one the fuck up. Make yourself sound good as hell, and like you put your company’s needs slightly above the customer’s needs, but make the customer happy.
If they ask you about being outgoing, Say you “like to focus on your work so you can concentrate on doing things right” (which buys you out of having to act friendly all the time)
Questions for after the interview:
1. Does this position offer upward mobility?
2. Do you enjoy working for the company? (if you’re not interviewing for a temp agency who will send you anywhere)
Then, shake their hand, Ask them to repeat their name (REMEMBER THIS) say thank you for your time, wish them a nice day and leave. write their name down outside if you have to, just remember the fuck out of it.
AFTER your interview, send a card directed to the name of the person who interviewed you (I’ll give you them) that says “Thank you for the interview, I appreciate the opportunity. have a great day” This shows that you have an understanding of professionalism, and will have them thinking of you kindly (or at least remembering you) when they’re shuffling through the choices.
DO NOT tell them you just moved to the city over the phone. In person, tell them you just moved to the city. Make it sound like the only reason you need a job is because you moved. Not because you’re desperate.

I love this. It’s such a great comedic way to get a serious and useful message across. I love it. Fight eating disorders.
FUCKING LOVE THIS OMG
As someone who’s had an ED and is still in recovery – this sucks. EDs are all about control and being “good enough”. I believe a big part to why mine developed was because I’m gay and it was a reaction to heteronormativity and the feeling of don’t belonging and being “wrong”.
This typ of “awareness” is a) super sexaulizing towards all girls as well as belittling and b) perpetuating heteronormativity and c) just in really bad taste. As I said EDs are about control and being “good enough” and not only are people with EDs demonized (you should be thin but you should eat more, or if you are a fat person with an ED the stigma even greater) and not taken seriously, but it’s a disorder that has its roots in anxiety. This typ of “good girl” talk is not only very sexualizing, but it’s also manipulating and borderline abuseive in this context.
Oh yeah, funny joke but please think of the implications of what the fuck you put into the world
Uhm this is a very rapey, pedophilic, and sexual way of “fighting” EDs.
This is the same sort of stupid as “save the boobies”
As a woman, who suffered from anorexia for years, I can only say I’m disgusted! People really think that it’s okay to sexualise and pornify every part of a female person’s life…even fucking eating disorders!
women with mental illness can’t get any rest from being sexualized
Why does everything have to be pornified ?
Pedophiles and sexual predators often tell the victims that hey have to be ‘good girls’ and actually say this to their victims while raping and sexually abusing them.
A pedophilic, sexually sadistic neo nazi contacted me and said this kind of thing to me and posted bdsm images of young teen girls who were terrified having a dom’s penis in from of her face.
This is pedophilic and this is rape culture.
Don’t ever put this anywhere a young woman could see it.
Don’t put this where men can see this.
There are many men who actually enjoy seeing this and see this as a new way to find their next victim.
That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.
Hate Apple and are more than happy to spite them in some way
No one will know which is it
Reblogging this from my iPhone, ironically.
